ShopMobility is designed to help people with limited mobility to access the shops and facilities in and around the town centre. Electric mobility scooters, powerchairs and wheelchairs are available for daily hire at low cost.
In Bury St Edmunds the scheme is run by EcoCarriers BSE, a not-for-profit community business.
How it works
Register for membership and discounted hire rates online here, or call us on 01284 413441. Book your scooter at least 24h in advance by telephone or email. We will need to see two forms of ID (one with a photo, eg passport, Blue Badge or driving licence) the first time you hire from us (and on each occasion if you’re a non-member).
Where
Collect your hire scooter from the Apex. Alternative collection points (eg the bus station, your home address in Bury) are available by prior arrangement – call us to discuss.
Prices
Annual membership of the scheme is £10, then it’s £2.50 per hire.
For non members it’s £5 per hire.
